Jodi has been involved in Music Together® since 1999 when she discovered the program as a mom attending classes with her son. A Certified Level II Music Together^® teacher, she was trained by the program’s founders, Ken Guilmartin and Lili Levinowitz, at the Center for Music and Young Children.  2003 marked the beginning of Jodi's exciting musical journey when she introduced Edmonton to the magic of making Music Together. Along with the dedication of her passionate, talented and caring staff she took Music Together from a program Edmonton had never heard of, to the "must-do" music class on every family’s list!

Jodi's favouite Music Together moment: I had a family in class whose daughter was easily over-stimulated, so her and her parents mostly participated just outside the doors of the classroom. They were still a part of the circle - they would call out suggestions, the other children would bring them instruments and put them away afterwards - and their particpation outside of the circle became a part of the circle. After about 5 semesters had gone by, the family's patience had finally worn thin and they decided to not re-register. When I told the class that they weren't coming back - the entire circle was so sad to hear the news that they individually reached out to the parents to let them know how integral they were to the community of the class. The family re-registered...their daughter eventually moved into the circle, she particpated with confidence, and there was no turning back! Community. Caring. Connection...THIS is the MAGIC of making Music Together!

Allison Nichols is a professional musician and educator whose love of music and enthusiasm for sharing it with her community has taken her around the world - literally. An active vocalist in the Edmonton music scene, Allison discovered the Music Together program while working as an early childhood music teacher in Japan, where she joined the teaching team at Azabu (Tokyo) Music Together®.  She is drawn to the program’s methodology, musical diversity, and inclusive community-building power across cultural and linguistic boundaries. When not teaching Music Together, Allison can be seen performing at venues across the city in various groups, including her own six-piece party and function band The Last Calls and original pop trio Seven Suns. She holds a Bachelor of Music Composition and a Performance Diploma from MacEwan University, and has also studied classical voice at the Toronto Conservatory of Music.

Hello Everybody! My name is Stephanie Wolfe and I found Music Together in 2004 when my first son was one and a half. After searching for a program that was interactive and focussed on the relationship between parent, child and community, I finally took a chance at a silent auction and bought a massage! Low and behold there was this AMAZING music class taking place right next door. I was hooked before I walked in! There was no turning back and I felt very grateful to become a Music Together Teacher after my second son was born into it! Before the land of parenthood found us, I had spent 20 years as a professional actress, travelling around the country doing everything from musical comedies to Shakespeare's tragedies, and some of his comedies as well! I have performed across the country, from The National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Second City in Toronto to all the main stages in Saskatchewan and Alberta. I am also a founding member of Edmonton's own Internationally acclaimed and award winning Improvised Soap Opera, Die Nasty. I am passionate about the arts and I'm so grateful there is a program like this that puts music back into the culture; back into the hands of the family. I love Music Together because it I believe music is for everyone to make, not just for the trained musicians. It inspires parents, grandparents and children, no matter the age, to believe in their musical instincts and cut loose! It is not about competition.

A couple of my favourite moments: One mom said to me, "I was always told I couldn't sing! I can't wait to come to Music Together, and I'm taking voice lessons now! I LOVE singing!" I also had a Grandpa in my class who used to sit against the wall and sing in what he described as 'off key.' He began participating more and more until he sounded so good he said " I was always told I had a 'tin ear' and had no confidence in school music events. I am enjoying this so much I'm going to miss it when we go away for the winter!" So you see, making Music Together is a no- brainer for the kids but just as special for the ancient kids!

In January of 2008 I was asked to take my granddaughter to a Music Together class and I was immediately hooked. The same day I contacted our director Jodi Howard and the rest is history!

Before having my own children I was a professional musician. I spent my childhood touring Canada with my family band, and the stage was the only place I felt comfortable. Out of high school I did the Grant MacEwan Music program, became a self employed musician and some years later started a Music Education degree.

With music being a huge part my life, I understand and see the benefits of the Music Together Program. I am honoured to be sharing this musical experience with other families. One of my favourite Music Together moments was singing "Blow the Wind Southerly" in three part harmony during a lullaby time. It was a beautiful, loving and harmonious moment, which is the stuff musical memories are made of.
